Established in 1891, it was initially known as the French Tennis Championships, but it wasn’t until 1925 that it took on its current name. Since 1928, this emblematic competition has been held at the Roland Garros stadium in the 16th Arrondissement of Paris, close to the Bois de Boulogne and Boulogne-Billancourt. Every year in May, the legendary tournament, organised by the French Tennis Federation, returns and makes happy both clay-court tennis enthusiasts and professionnals. Major renovations completed in 2021
After six years of major works, the emblematic tennis stadium has been given a facelift, offering more space, more greenery and more modernity in a 12-hectare setting. Enough to delight tennis fans!

- A large esplanade of almost one hectare at the heart of the stadium
- The Jardin des Mousquetaires, an airy, leafy setting for soothing breaks
- Emblematic statues such as that of Rafael Nadal, the French famous tennis player who marked the history of the Roland Garros tournament with his many victories. We can also find the pioneer of French aviation, Roland Garros, who was the first pilot to fly non-stop across the Mediterranean in 1913.
